Doug Allen Doug Allen has taught Advanced Placement Studio Art classes for over 25 years and is currently Fine Arts Consultant for Jordan School District in Sandy, Utah. He also teaches Art Classes for Brigham Young University Salt Lake Center. He is a graduate from the University of Utah with a Masters Degree and Bachelors of Fine Arts. He is not only an educator, but also an accomplished artist and has many commissions for his paintings. He taught high school in Australia where he won 1st place in an international painting competition celebrating the discoveries of Capitan Cooke. (click here to view) |
He has been a grader for
the College Board in Studio Art for the past 6 years. He has also been an AP
Consultant teaching Workshops and Institutes on
strategies for teaching Art Studio. He has presented workshops at the
National Art Education Association Convention, and was invited to present a
workshop at the National AP Conference in 2005 and again in 2007. He was
awarded a teacher scholarship at the Chicago Art Institute in 2006 to work
with other selected master teachers from across the country. His students
have won numerous awards in many areas, including 2 National Awards (1995 &
2005) for the Federal Jr. Duck Stamp Contest and the National PTSA
Reflections Competition. Many of his former students have successful art
